When Ash and Mitch got in touch with me to shoot their Bali Wedding on the island of Nusa Lembongan, I jumped at the chance. I’d been to Bali a few times before, and love the vibe of the place and its people.
Nusa Lembongan is a small island situated off the southeast coast of mainland Bali, known for great diving and surfing in its vivid turquoise waters. I arrived a couple of days early to explore the island via scooter to scope out some spots for the bridal photos.
The wedding took place in Opera Villa, a private luxury beachfront villa overlooking 3 surf breaks and the active volcano Mount Agung in the background.
As with most destination weddings, the ceremony was a relaxed and casual affair, followed by drinks and speeches and an awesome pool party as a perfect end to the sweltering 35 degree day. I couldn’t say no to a quick dip myself, and nervously held my (non-waterproof) camera inches from the water to capture… well, look at the photos below to see for yourself!
Speaking of the photos, I took more than I’ve ever taken at any other wedding, but here’s just a small sample of my favourites.
Bali weddings and getting married overseas in general – it’s the way to go, guys! Get in touch with me to cover your destination wedding today.
Congratulations to Ash and Mitch!
Meanwhile in another room…
Back to the girls for the finishing touches…
Let’s get this show on the road!
Ever seen a bride on a scooter?!
Back at the villa, the pool looks very inviting…
