Dharini and David were married this March in the beautiful gardens at Banjo Paterson cottage, overlooking the water in Gladesville, Sydney. David’s family is originally from Ecuador, with Dharini’s side from Sri Lanka, providing for some beautiful sahris and traditional Indian costume.
Apart from looking absolutely stunning on her wedding day, Dharini has got to be the most relaxed bride I have ever encountered! She took her time getting to the wedding venue (much to David and her mother Sukanya’s anxiety!), then seemed to enjoy the day as if she were a guest rather than the centre of attention. I’m very fortunate to be able to work with such easy-going brides 🙂
Following the wedding ceremony and reception at Banjo Paterson, the bridal party were whisked away by private water taxi to Cockatoo Island for a photo shoot. Cockatoo Island is a former convict prison and shipyard in Sydney Harbour, and makes an interesting backdrop for bridal photos – its bold, industrialised grittiness in stark contrast with the colourful bride and groom and their entourage.
Here’s a selection of a few of my favourite images from the day.
