Donna and Danny got married under an enormous fig tree on the Tarpeian Lawn of the Sydney Botanic Gardens, with the glorious Sydney Harbour and Opera House as a backdrop. Talk about an awesome location for a wedding!
Danny’s family flew all the way from Brazil for the big day. I started shooting just moments before Donna and her father walked down the aisle – this being the first wedding I’ve covered that skipped all the preparation photos and fast forwarded straight to the action!
After a swift and informal ceremony, the tranquil gardens were suddenly filled with a coach-load of Asian tourists who descended on the lawn in a whirlwind of camera flashes. Witnessing a real Ozzie wedding next to the Opera House was just too much for them, hence the impromptu paparazzi moment you can see below…
Last stop was Café Copo, Danny’s café diner in Drummoyne, for the reception and general knees up. Before the newly weds arrived, I had the chance to set up a camera flash for a special little photo in front of their pride and joy – hopefully it’ll look good printed out on the café wall!
